They got me through five winters with moderate snow and five hot summers, trips on really bad tarmac or no tarmac at all, high speeds and a lot of city driving. They still have 3-4 mm left which is really impressive. The only downside is that after about 20-25k km they lost a lot of grip and became really noisy which was really a shame considering how good these tires were at the beginning. Also, the ice grip isn’t too good, but with precaution in mind you can get to your destination safely.

Only downside is that it is not too comfortable as using summer tires on summer time. But I think this is acceptable for everyone who don’t like changing tires 2 times every year. With good braking and cornering in the snow and reliable performance on the ice, the Cross Climate 2 is a safe choice for your car, crossover or small SUV. Subjectively, the tires seem to be the best all-season tires I’ve ever driven in wet weather. By comparison to many test vehicles shod with all-season rubber that I drive on a weekly basis, the CrossClimate 2 tires inspired more confidence in the heavy rain. And much more than the summer-only high-performance tires on the new European sports coupe I drove that same day. For starters, the acceleration and braking traction is a step above what every other all-season tire offers.

If you compare the Michelin Defender T+H vs Crossclimate 2, both are among the best all-season tires available in 2022 according to Consumer Reports. michelin defender tires This just proves how evenly matched these tires are. The SipeLock 3-D siping technology is another excellent Michelin technology for winter performance. These sipes are equipped with biting edges for increased traction on snow and ice. One reason why the Michelin tire gives such a reliable all-season performance is its design, which is engineered to drain water efficiently. Its directional line with particularly aggressive V-grooves quickly directs water and slush away from the tire.

Taxes, installation costs, and any other service fees are not included. My 2021 Kia Sorrento Hybrid tires only had 20,000 miles on them. They slipped going over a few wet leaves & worse on wet roads that made me feel very unsafe. I have not driven in any snow or ice but plenty of rain. Be aware these tires WILL take a toll on your gas mileage.

I’ve had this on the Kia Sorento for around 6 months, and driven a winter in Salt Lake City which see’s a lot of snow. These tires are exceptional, quiet and comfortable in the dry, good grip in the wet, and michelin truck tires way way better than any us all season tire. Only swapping them off for the summer as I want a set of ATs on for moab driving and don’t want to risk a sidewall popping, otherwise I’d keep this on all year.

I originally posted a review of these tires in Dec 2021, shortly after having them fitted. Fuel economy also improved slightly – by about 0.5mpg – after the tire change. michelin defender tires After covering 13K miles, tread wear has been 2.6mm at the front and 1.7mm for the rear, so with occasional wheel rotation they should last between 35 to 40K miles.
