Mr Coffee® 4-Shot Steam Espresso, Cappuccino, and Latte Maker in Black

The included plastic tamper is not really cut out for the job and should be replaced sooner rather than later, but this would be true of nearly any espresso machine with a plastic tamper. If you don’t yet have a stainless steel tamper for your coffee station, or are looking to upgrade, check out our review round-up mr coffee machine of our favorite espresso tampers. This entry-level espresso, cappuccino, and latte maker is a tool with all the basic capabilities for someone just starting out in the world of espresso. Though it can be frustratingly inconsistent, that is part of the tradeoffs that come with a nearly unbeatable price tag.

Additionally, while the device claims to be able to make 15 bars of pressure, some reviewers and users have reported that the machine can clog when using a fine espresso grind. Naturally, this poses a significant issue given that it is an espresso machine. We evaluated its espresso and foam quality, the machine’s mechanics, the setup process, and more to see if the machine is worth it.

The metal used for the drip grid and filters seemed pretty weak, and the brew basket handle and coffee scoop/tamper are made of plastic, which doesn’t feel durable at all. If you have the budget, you could probably upgrade to the Rancilio Silvia, mr coffee latte maker which is a big step up. Merge functionality and design with these Mr. Coffee espresso machines, available in a choice of vivid or sleek colors. With a luxurious appearance, white espresso machines will add a classy touch to your home.

Perhaps the most convenient feature the Mr. Coffee Cafe Barista offers is its one touch (or two touch if you want a two shots in your coffee drinks) programs. With just one or two presses of a button, the machine will steam and froth your milk and then dispense espresso, all without user intervention. Regrettably the programs are preset and cannot be customized to your tastes or glassware size. In one simple touch, Mr. Coffee® Café Barista brews espresso… and automatically froths milk into cappuccino and latte selections. You don’t need Barista know-how to create custom coffee drinks like your favorite coffeehouse.

We have everything you need to know below to get you back to brewing in no time. The preheat time can vary depending on the model of the Mr. Coffee Espresso Machine, but it typically takes around 5 minutes. You’ll know that the machine is ready when the light on the front of the machine turns on. Mr. Coffee® has been brewing great tasting coffee in the comfort of people’s homes for generations.

Using the included tamper, we pressed the coffee grounds down to get an even and firm layer. Next, we placed the filter holder into the brew head in the machine, followed by a cup underneath to catch the espresso. The light will blink while it is heating up and turn solid green when it is ready to use. As a former barista, I personally encourage you to use the manual mode, so that you can control brewing time perfectly. This will allow you to tweak your grind size for quality espressos.

However, the brew basket and water reservoir cup should not be removed until the pressure has been fully released. This could be done by turning the knob to steam and allowing the pressure to be relieved through the frothing tube. Further, it would be useful if only 2 cups are brewed each time, instead of trying to brew 4, to get high quality coffee.
