Captain Black Gold Pipe Tobacco 1 5 OZ POUCH 5 COUNT

Camille Corot said that the impression is everything… Yeah, my first impressoin was amazing! Of course, I’ve had nothing to compare, but that was beautiful combination of taste, scent, sensation of process as a whole. Even a little tongue bite, came through, has introduced a spicy note in the process.

For some reason, fall time is aromatic time for me. I have now been smoking long enough to notice that, unintentialy, my tastes change in an almost circular rhythm. And, Captain black white is very pleasing to my present mood. While the taste of tobacco has not been defiled oversweetening, there is no way to defend that slightly perfumed aroma . Opening the envelope hits a strong dose of sugar- powdery scent . Despite the slight cherry flavor and intense fragrance reminiscent of …

I noticed a huge difference (for the better) when smoked in a meerschaum. I decided to try Captain Black White since it was such a classic tobacco. Many reviewed it as an overly sweet, goopy aromatic but I wanted to try it for myself. After drying it out for a bit the first time, I found it to be pretty good. It definitely has a vanilla undertone that can be detected with slow puffing; however, fast puffing can definitely heat this up quickly.

There is no bite to this tobacco at all, and for a drugstore blend, it’s well worth the money. This is one of the few drugstore tobaccos I do smoke once in a while. It’s frankly about as good as most black cavendish/burley blends you will find in tobacco stores and generally at a cheap price. Although I’ve found Walgreen’s Black and burley blend pretty similar for an even cheaper bargain.

But enough about the cultural phenomenon that is CBW- as to the blend in its own right, it really isn’t that bad, it’s peterson pipes just not very good. It’s a pretty standard OTC-grade black cavendish mix. Hints of toasted marshmallow and vanilla.

I figured for a total of $25 for both tubs, ill keep it just to look at, and maybe someday try it again when im old and crusty. Nah, i opened a tub the second i got home. People saying it’s crap tobacco isn’t snobbery.. To like this a person must have no taste buds left and a tongue of leather. Was better about 40 years ago, now its goop and chemicals !

This was the first tobacco I ever smoked. It was great that first time, and has been pleasant ever since. Has a tendency to smoke a bit hot, and bite some, but that could just be my inexperience as a pipe smoker. Either way, a good vanilla aromatic as far as I’m concerned.

Well put it this way if I was in a pinch and needed to smoke I would go to the gas station and get me some of this stuff. I really think as far as the gas station blends this is the king. I smoked quite a bit of it once upon a time, and to diss it just isn’t right. One of the first tobaccos I ever tried. Every once in a while I’ll pick some up for nostalgia.

It smells amazing in the pouch, and is quite moist. It packs well and burns for a long time. Although I was outside and had to re-light it quite often, it had a really pleasant taste. A sweet hint of vanilla with a small nutty effect.
