Genesis Bicycles

As with the Day One, there are mudguards, rear pannier rack, and an internally geared rear hub for all weather dependability. But more than that, there’s front and rear dynamo lights, so you never need worry about genesis bicycles forgetting/neglecting to charge your lights. An internally geared hub goes a long way to weather proofing the drivetrain, as do the full housed gear cables that help stop dirt degrading your shifting performance.

If you’re a roadie, Genesis has a few models for you to consider. The Montane Icemen (Pete Sissons and Paul Cosgrove) underlined the bikes capabilities as they used a pair of Croix de Fers to circumnavigate the 1600-mile coastline of Iceland in 14 days. Genesis bikes became renowned for their use of steel tubing and ethos for function over form. Due to the extra weight of electric bikes, we are unable to ship these fully assembled. Instead, your bike will be built, configured and checked by our mechanics before being packed back into it’s original box.

Even if you’re not a bike enthusiast, you’ve probably noticed the giant bicycle perched on top of the store at 126 Bushkill St. You can see it as you pass by on Route 22 heading into New Jersey. The Tour de Fer is a steel touring-specific bike with a longer, stable wheelbase, and comes complete with mudguards and racks. Finally, for the bikepackers, the Longitude is a fully rigid, steel-framed mid-fat expedition adventure bike. Bikes are excluded from next day delivery to allow for assembly and quality checking by our team of professional bike builders. Specialized also launched a Peter Sagan collection with a largely gold frameset a few years ago. The frame appears to be a Genesis Zero Disc – a model that’s no longer in the range – that has had an extension up front.

With its steel frame and carbon fork, asymmetrical chainstays and 650b wheels with gargantuan 50c tyres, it’s perfect if you want a bike that will take you anywhere, but don’t want a mountain bike. As the name suggests, these are bikes that are designed for the explicit purpose of riding on the road. Some are more race oriented, meaning mudguard and pannier mounts are forgone and the geometry is longer and lower. Others have more of an endurance focus, better suited to long rides and have all the mounts you need for light cycle-touring.

If there are any issues with your bike, return it for a full refund or receive a replacement bike for free. The CDA on the other hand is less race and more sportive, with relaxed endurance geometry and massive tyre clearance for knobblies so you can truly take it anywhere. Next up is the endurance-focused Zeal, which is full carbon, so you genesis mountain bike can ride longer and faster with less effort. The first Genesis bike was produced under the Ridgeback brand as the Day One model in 2001. Due to its popularity, Genesis became a label in its own right in 2006. Finished with 37mm tyres and in a glorious forest green colourway, this is an enduring bike and one worthy of the Day One moniker.

Moving into the racier end of the spectrum, the Zero and Zero Disc are full-carbon road bikes with aggressive geometry. As the price increases, so does the level of tech, with Di2 included in the top-end model. Though we’re a bike shop that sells, builds and fixes bicycles, they’re really just the means to an end; albeit a beautifully designed means to an idyllic end. Our job most importantly is to encourage as many people as we can to get out and ride for transport and enjoyment.

Despite designing all of our bikes in-house in Milton Keynes, we’re lucky to be able to produce them in world-class factories in Vietnam and Indonesia. Our hand-assembled frames are sent to our warehouse to be finished and sold. Genesis Bikes, based in the UK, has a long history of developing and building bikes they would ride. It makes you want to travel again, no matter how far or short. Genesis Bikes has always used the finest materials and gone its own way since 2001. Notably, this company is proud of its aversion to any one frame material.
