To make pizza I loosely followed the recipe for Pizza Margherita in the instruction manual but tweaked the toppings to suit what I had available in my fridge. As advised in the recipe, I set the toaster oven to convection bake and preheated for 15 minutes. An air fryer’s heating elements are usually on the top of the unit along with a large fan, and it cuts down cook time significantly. You also don’t need to preheat with this air fryer which, when you’ve been working all day and need things to be quick and easy, is huge. If you were to fry nuggets in oil for example, you’d use a ton of oil to do that.
However, you may still want an air fryer toaster oven for smaller cooking tasks. A toaster oven also uses less energy and generally won’t heat up your kitchen as much. Generally, if you opt for a convection toaster oven over an air fryer toaster oven, you’ll pay a little less, and you’ll need to cook your food a little bit longer to get comparably crispy results. You also won’t get features like a specific “air fry” setting or basket, but those aren’t necessary to get extra-crispy results.
We liked this digital model, but the control panel can be a little tricky. The brand also offers a version with mechanical dials for a more simple-to-use interface that’s also a little cheaper.
