Its wide range of serving sizes, along with an iced coffee option, makes it one of the most versatile Keurigs on the market. Its only potential drawback is a lack of a keurig classic milk frother, which you can buy separately from the company directly. The only real complaint we can levy against the K-Elite when it comes to convenience is the fact that it can create some splatter when using a shorter mug. This machine is indeed quite quiet during the brewing process so it’s perfect if you want to avoid waking up your family and having to deal with groggy and grumpy people in the AM. It’s not uncommon for us to make mistakes or fumble every now and then when holding our coffee cup. The drip tray is there to make sure the spilled water or coffee does not spread everywhere. Unfortunately, half a point was taken off the overall score thanks to two minor inconveniences. Firstly, the coffee machine doesn’t have an indicator light to show that it’s ready. The brewer also has a Strong button for those who enjoy more robust coffee. This option brews coffee for slightly longer to increase the extraction of coffee from the beans.
The K-Elite and the K-Select are the quietest Keurig machines we’ve tested. Also included is a clock, which is a surprisingly big deal for the usually screenless Keurig. This allows the K-Elite to be programmed to power on before you even wake up — you can just prep a K-Cup the night before, and the machine will heat up, ready to brew, at a set time. It can’t, however, start its brew function via its timer, meaning you still have to get up and press it on. The machine also has an auto-off feature, which turns the K-Elite off two hours after its last brew to save energy. The coffeemaker’s BrewID tech, meanwhile, selects the ideal settings for whichever K-Cup you choose to use.
