I personally think the best way to lie, particularly if there were 3 people, would be with the door to the side. I believe this tent would still be comfortable with 3 people, but would leave less room for gear. Having re-erected the tent once home to dry it out, I have to say, it only takes around 1-2 minutes to open now.
The green side of the rainfly is the right side up, and the underside of the rainfly is black. Leaks in moderate to heavy rain and tent corners break easily. If someone could make them out of metal it would be a great tent. I like Coleman tents in general they offer a price to quality ratio that works. In my opinion this Instant Tent is overpriced, when compared to other Coleman tents of a similar size.
So it is up to you, it depends on where you are going to use this tent. I know for sure that I would not go to the Alps without a fly, we have a lot of rain there and it can last for hours. This will put your mind at rest at least regarding the roof. The problem may appear with vertical flaps when you have rain and strong wind which coleman instant tent can force water to move to the sides and under the flaps tp the zippers. So my point is that I would not rely on this system as fully waterproof, although it really looks great and durable. This tent is a single-layer type and this is the only similarity with winter tents which are usually (but not always) single-layer structures.
Just remember to press on the silver lock button on all the telescoping poles and push on them until they cannot be retracted further. It’ll take coleman instant tent about ~7.5 minutes for 2 people to set up this Coleman 10-Person Instant Tent. Bought two air beds, both lost air in a matter of a few hours.
The steep walls make cabin tents great for campers who want a tall ceiling to prevent them from hitting their heads off the roof. It’s a good idea to set the tent up in your backyard before heading out if you are going to be pitching it alone. You don’t want to get to your campsite and realize that you’re too short to attach the rainfly. While the delicate nature of the poles is understandable—it makes the tent lighter and easier to remain instant—it’s best to take extra care when handling the pre-attached poles.
The divider comes with S-hooks that you can easily attach to loops at the top of the tent, and also at the sides (5 of these in total). The door on the left width of the tent is this hinged D-door. The length of the Coleman 10-Person Instant Tent is about 13 feet and 11 inches, while the width is about 9 feet and 9 inches, so slightly smaller than the marketed dimensions (which is about 14 by 10 feet). Finally, insert the green-colored fiberglass pole through the door pole sleeve (which can be zipped open and close).
This instant set up design means that this tent can be pitched by one person. The most challenging part might be getting the additional rainfly over the peak height of the tent body. If you’ve got your heart set on fall camping and are expecting storms, go ahead and grab yourself a tarp or two. The rainfly doesn’t hold up on its own with the Coleman 6 person instant tent cabin.
Forcing your poles through their sleeves, hanging heavy objects from your tent ceiling, or failing to properly stake and guy out a Coleman tent is a great way to pop a seam. The downside of this design is that the panels must be closed when it is raining. In such situations, this tent will not be a very pleasant place, you do not have mesh on the ceiling as typical for summer tents with a separate fly. This tent is quite heavy, you have 36.3 lb (16.5 kg) here.
All of these heavy-duty materials add a great deal to the weight—at nearly 25lb, this is the heaviest tent in our 2021 review. However, this was not a bother to us, as this tent really only needs to be transported from the car to the impact pad, and we’d rather heft a few extra pounds than sacrifice durability. There’s no included footprint with this tent, and we’d recommend purchasing either a 9’x9’ or 10’x10’ footprint, which unfortunately is not offered by Coleman. You can also save quite a bit of money by opting for a tarp instead. These will run you anywhere from $10-20, depending upon your desired level of quality.
