Ozark Trail 10 Person Tent UPDATED 2023: Definitive Review

The 9-Person instant cabin tent is perfect for campers who need a smaller footprint but adequate space for two families. And with the instant setup feature, you can forget the tough task of connecting tent poles. So this was my Ozark Trail 15 person instant tent review, as you realize this is an impressive and very livable tent, and the price tag is truly great.

If you’re anywhere near a generator and rely on power throughout the night, you won’t have to worry about leaving your electronics exposed to the elements while they charge. Despite this, you won’t find anything at this price point with as roomy of an interior, both in terms of the floor and overhead. The tent stands at a factory measured 92 inches tall, so no one should have to duck while standing inside, with rare exception.

Later had poles break in another section after water got down inside a pole joint and froze breaking it. I then purchased several of the coghlan’s tent pole repair kits and made myself a new set of poles. These poles are MUCH more durable, have been through similar abuse and have not broke. As stated above, durability and materials are the main pain point of Ozark Trail tents.

The only reason that we knocked the Ozark Trail 10 person tent on value for money was its overall durability. You won’t need to buy and transport three separate tents ozark trail canopy when camping with multiple families. We go camping in search of rest and relaxation, but the glare of the morning sun can wake us up well before we’re ready sometimes.

Ozark Trail tents such as the 7 Person Teepee are perfect affordable options for camping excursions, particularly if you like to go outdoors with the family or a large group of friends. Like the 12 person tent, it also comes with a T-style door, so you can move camping gear and furniture without having to fangle it through a small, D-style door. Ozark Trail makes tents of all sizes, but we’ve found larger family camping tents to be their forte. Very tall in the middle allowing me at 6 feet 3 inches tall and 260 pounds to finally be able to stand all the way up and not feel crowded in a tent. The closets seemed pointless when we bought it but have turned out to be a huge help. It lets you keep everything off the floor and out of your way so middle-of-the-night trips out of the tent do not include tripping over anything.

During set up one of the guys stepped on one of the poles breaking it. During the night some of the snow broke the other pole (both were in the section at the very end). This was easily repaired with a coghlan’s tent pole repair kit. This tent, still new in the cardboard box inside the carry bag and never set up, was the best thing to happen to me. We got where we were going in late evening, and that night (about 20 minutes after arriving) we started feeling frozen droplets.

When combined with the porch, the tent’s footprint is a square. This allows you to have a huge amount of tent space without taking up too much campground footage. At 128 sq ft, you’ll have more than enough room for two queen air mattresses, plus gear, plus plenty of headroom with an inside height of 74 inches. This tent is not only an instant tent, but a 2-room tent that includes LED lighted poles and a bluetooth speaker. Ozark Trail makes some of the best instant tents around, and certainly one of the most affordable.

In moderate winds, the tent will remain fairly solid if properly tightened and staked in good soil. Ozark Trail is a privately-labeled brand owned by Walmart. Several manufacturers create the camping line for Walmart, but everything is sold under the name Ozark Trail. A con of this tent brand is that the tents tend to be heavier, bulkier, and more fragile. Consumers report issues with stakes and zippers breaking frequently. It’s certainly not a technical tent, and it’s not intended for a lot of continual use, but it will serve its purpose at an incredible price.

There are some tent brands that charge an arm and a leg, but still provide a poor camping experience. On the other hand, there are more affordable tents that will go a long, long way for you. The design of this tent is a big rectangle, and it only has one door, but I haven’t found this setup to be a problem. The front door is a massive T-style door, allowing you to move large gear in and out with ease. Cabin-style straight wall tent designs provide more lateral space, sure, but a dome tent is better against the wind.

Some of these styles also come in instant or pop-up formats that make setting them up easy. The Ozark Trail collection is focused mainly on Dome and Cabin tents. In fact, ozark trail tent the pocket-friendly price tag is the best part of this 3-person dome tent. For occasional campers who don’t want to spend a fortune on a tent, this is a great option.
