Electric Bikes

It’s basically the Goldilocks option, offering enough performance and functionality for everyday commuters without pushing the price too high. Whether your route to school is on the sidewalk, path, or street, Schwinn kids’ bikes are the perfect way to pedal into a new school year. The only hitch I encountered was when installing the front fender.

Schwinn also makes quality bikes, so you don’t have to worry about purchasing a defective product. This bike manufacturer has been around for over 100 years, and it knows how to make a good bicycle. In the 1950s, Arnold, Schwinn & Company focused on growing the brand by striking exclusive marketing deals with retailers. The company convinced retailers to carry Schwinn bicycles as their exclusive brand. This skyrocketed their brand recognition, and they started aggressively marketing in the child and youth bike categories.

Similarly to Healy Ridge 26, this bike has a 250W motor and 280Wh battery at your service. The 280Wh battery gives enough juice for up to 25miles, which might not seem much, but it’s perfect for weekend adventures. From the Coston DX to the Schwinn Mendocino, the Schwinn electric bike line-up covers anything from on-road to off-road, from a casual cruise to running errands with the kids. Ease of riding at higher speeds without battery assistance.

So grab your helmet, hop on the Ridgewood, and cruise around with ease. All three of the new Schwinn ebike models have step-thru and standover versions, 20mph speed limit and 250-watt brushless geared hub drive motor. Its throttle was so lackluster and slow — especially when compared with other bikes of a similar price class — that it sometimes didn’t feel like it was powered at all. Once you’re up to speed and cruising on a flat surface, the ride quality feels smooth and reasonably quick, but the motor struggles up moderate hills. And when it comes to serious hills, the Coston gets left far behind other e-bikes. These bikes are built well and offer lifetime warranties, so you know you’ll get a long-lasting product.

The rear hub motor offers assist levels of 0-5, with 0 being no assist and 5 being the maximum assist. Of course, I wanted to try the assist, and when I did, I found that I never schwinn dealers needed more than level 1 to roll at a comfortable trail speed. The Coston CE’s battery is a bit smaller, whereas the 250W motor is just as powerful as the other Schwinn e-bikes.

Most of their models are made for casual cyclists with a single-speed drivetrain, so if you’re looking for electric mountain bikes or racing options, you might be disappointed. Some options come close to being hybrid bike models, but we recommend looking elsewhere if you need intense outdoor performance. In fact, our Trek Verve review demonstrates an interesting take on the hybrid bike concept, and has found success with casual riders. When Schwinn contacted me about reviewing one of the bikes, I chose the Coston DX in the step-thru version, which makes for easy mounting. All three models have headlights, taillights and integrated downtube lights for full visibility.

When it comes to buying things in the 21st century, we seem to have an embarrassment of riches. Luckily, it doesn’t have to be an exhaustive and daunting task to pick the best electric bike. Riders of all ability levels and all shapes and sizes can pretty easily determine schwinn beach cruiser the best e-bike for them with just a few minutes of reading and research. For comparison, my main bike — the REI Co-op Cycles CTY 2.1 — is bigger and weighs just over 30 pounds. The added weight makes the Monroe a pain to lug into my basement for storage.
