At this point, it probably goes without saying, but the Blackstone E-series griddles are powered by electricity. The 22″ unit is also about 14″ deep with 312 square inches of cooking surface. This is a similar amount of cooking area as Blackstone’s 22″ gas griddle. The LCD display is bright enough that the temperature can be seen when cooking blackstone portable grill outdoors in bright sunshine but subtle enough that it’s not obnoxious when cooking indoors. Precise temperature control allows you to make this a smokeless grill when cooking indoors. Blackstone Products will be offering the new E-Series electric griddle exclusively in WalMart stores, and online as part of its portable grills collection.
Electricity doesn’t offer the power of gas for griddling, so accept that going in. The E-Series offers a large surface to cook on, which is much easier than using pans on a stove. It is critical that you inspect the packaging of all items when they arrive and check if you received all boxes listed on the delivery receipt. If you notice any damage or shortage of packages, you must make a note of it on the bill of lading, take pictures, and refuse delivery. If there are no damages visible before opening the box, you must note “subject to further inspection may contain concealed damage”.

The surface feels almost frictionless, which can be annoying because you go to flip things and they just gently push with your utensils.
