The Intex Comfort Plush Elevated Dura-Beam Airbed (22-inch) was firm to sleep on, but it took longer to inflate than other models, around 5 minutes. The convertible Twin to King EasyStay 4-N-1 Airbed earned top scores for its great puncture resistance. This model in particular stood out among competitors in our Lab tests with no overnight leakage after 170 pounds of weight were applied to the mattress for 24 hours. Plus, it impressed our testers, who called it “more comfortable to sleep on” than other air beds they’ve tried, but they noted that the brand’s pump was a little too loud when inflating the mattress late at night. Serta’s air mattresses have performed well in our evaluations, standing out as one of the top performers in puncture resistance tests. This model also inflates and deflates relatively quickly, with the Queen-size style taking just shy of two and a half minutes to fully inflate.
The company recommends using its 120V or rechargeable air pump to inflate the air mattress. This Coleman is made of PVC, which is a pretty standard material found in air mattresses. According to the company, it is lab-tested to make sure it is leak-free. Side sleeping on the Coleman air mattress, of course, there is going to be some pressure on the shoulders and hips. That being said, it is not extremely uncomfortable side sleeping on the Coleman and, paired with some plush bedding or sleep bag, it could be a good fit for some.
