What I particularly like about this family tent is that although it’s a large tent, it’s more of a dome-style construction. Most of the larger tents are cabin-style, meaning they have walls that are angled straight up. But at only 17.6 lbs this is one of the lighter tents that can fit an entire family. Setup may take a bit longer, but that’s ok, you’ll ozark trail canopy benefit from the extra space in your car. If you’re looking to save money but still want that cabin tent experience, the Ozark Trail 10-Person Two-Room Cabin is tough to beat. Assuming a symmetrical tent, like the Ozark Trail, my head could be placed at either end and both options would feel equally comfortable. In fact, my particular tent spot wasn’t completely flat so I quickly rotated my sleeping bag so that my feet weren’t above my head all night. It was pretty easy to make adjustments from the side door access. I’ve had my tent for 5 years with no problems, even in heavy rain (I did have a tarp strung over top).
What I don’t quite like about this divider is that it’s sheer, so not completely opaque, and also, it’s not exactly full length. Also, I’m not tall enough to attach it without some help, but if you’re slightly taller you should be able to attach it no problem. Even in light rain, the rain does get on to the window and door mesh, so it’s best to keep them full closed. Though I didn’t rainproof this tent right away, it didn’t leak that bad ozark trail chair anyway. Plenty of room was a plus (easily fits a queen sized airbed maybe 2, and a decent ceiling height also was good. Can be set up by 1 person, but much easier with 2 people. Well, I took it back to Wal-Mart and they replaced the entire tent even though it was about six months old.
There was a slight rain when I went to bed on the 3rd night. I did like this tent for the roominess if you don’t put up the wall and you camp were it’s not going to rain (or snow for those who live in Canada). So yes, the Ozark Trail is an absolute steal of a deal if you’re into the bell tent design, but there are a few shortcomings you’ll want to be aware of if you’re considering it. First, although it’s a great space to hang in good weather, the yurt’s ventilation struggles to keep up in serious heat. If you plan to use it during summer, you may want to consider taking advantage of its e-port to run a tent air conditioner. Finally, keep in mind that this is a single wall shelter, which means there’s a lot riding on the quality of the tent fabric and seams.
Ozark Trail makes tents of all sizes, but we’ve found larger family camping tents to be their forte. Again, Ozark Trail tents are mainly fair weather camping tents (so you won’t be hiking into the backcountry with them) which means weight and packed size aren’t a big priority. The tent itself is nice and roomy, and boasts a 6-foot peak height to make changing clothes a drama-free endeavor.
When the thing finally wore out I thought I would spring for something with a little bit more room. The thing was fairly complex and that it was kind of mediocre, my main complaint is, unlike my Hillary it was absolutely not waterproof at all. It seemed like the rain came right through the top and formed a large puddles on the tent floor. It is definitely a family tent so forget about setting it up by yourself. One person needs to be inside to help hoist up the tent and hold it in place while you force the poles into the ring-&-pin holders. The netting has many flaws in it (not a nice smooth texture as in better quality tents). When you’re looking at what you want in a tent, consider how many people are going to be using it. Is it for a large family or just used short camping trips? If you’re going to use air mattresses, be sure it fits your size of mattress (most tents can fit a queen size air mattress).
