It was one of those planned events in 2020 that was delayed for years, from what else, but the Covid-19 pandemic. Since the trip was three ozark hammock chair years in the making, the anticipation was doubly intense. For the ultra-low budget price point, Ozark Trails are a solid purchase.
That doesn’t have to be the case though, thanks to Ozark Trail. Its 20-person tent will make the whole sleeping-outdoors-thing more comfortable. That’s why I like Ozark Trail – their tents provide strong protection against wind, rain and sun across the board. Certainly it’s not the best weather protection money can buy, but for summer campers and those will be avoiding bad storms, they will hold up just fine. A center height of 78 inches makes this a great choice for taller people, as any good cabin tent should. But at only 17.6 lbs this is one of the lighter tents that can fit an entire family.
I must say that nothing is waterproof, water resistant is a better term. I bought a $3 bottle of seam sealer followed the directions and have not ozark trail canopy had a single issue with water since. We, like some others, know that tents are NOT waterproof, so we sprayed the seams etc. with water replant.
This is why I have added it to my list of best instant camping tents. When you’re looking at what you want in a tent, consider how many people are going to be using it. Is it for a large family or just used short camping trips? If you’re going to use air mattresses, be sure it fits your size of mattress (most tents can fit a queen size air mattress). With the added height of an inflatable pillow and sleeping pad my head height was indeed close to the curvature of the tent ceiling but there was still enough room. I did have a few inches along the edge for some clothes, a water bottle, and a headlamp, but that could have been made wider with a narrower sleeping pad.
The mesh ceiling creates a comfortable cross-ventilation while keeping rain and creepy crawlers on the outside. There are two tent manufacturers that design tents very similarly to Ozark Trail; these include Core and ozark hammock chair Coleman. As I mentioned in the Durability section above, most tents are made of polyester; others are made of nylon. These materials aren’t as durable as canvas or cotton—which are commonly used in higher-priced tents.
