However, one of the rear hooks (that also seats the fly pole) started pulling out of the seam, so we managed to swap it for a replacement @ a Walmart in North Carolina. The replacement worked fine for the remainder of our tour, including surviving a pretty heavy thunderstorm in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Generally speaking, if you go into buying an Ozark Trail tent with reasonable expectations, you won’t be disappointed. None of these tents are designed to hold up in a serious thunderstorm. They’re not built for heavy winds, and they certainly aren’t made to stand up to heavy snow.
The partial fly does a great job of keeping rain out of the upper, mesh areas, and cleverly placed vents maintain airflow so it never feels too stuffy. In terms of how the two tents feel, the Marmot Tungsten 4 is more geared toward hunkering down and providing stalwart defense against wind, rain, and sun. In contrast to the Mineral King 3’s triangular vestibules, the Tungsten 4’s vestibules are trapezoidal, opening via a central door with protected areas on either side. This design does a better job shielding the tent from incoming—and sideways—wind and rain. The Tungsten’s two brow poles create an especially effective awning over the tent door, so very little water gets in when someone comes or goes. Despite having the smallest capacity of the tents we tested—42.5 square feet—the Mineral King 3 easily fits two people with a full-size mattress, or two sleeping pads, and gear.
I think I will go shopping this week for another tent that I feel better about. Otherwise I like the tent but do not trust it to hold up in severe conditions. It has been ozark trail chair to the beach in Mexico 3 times and several Northern California camping trips. The canopy has been used several times with out the tent to have shade for family functions.

Roll out the tent body and position it with the door pointing in the direction you desire and the roof pointing upward. Only complaint was the zipper hangs on the front door flap, destroyed flap and zipper. We have never been ozark trail canopy able to sleep in it and makes a poor storage room. I am 67 yrs old and have used Ozark Trail tents for years, but this covered screen dome turned out NOT TO BE A TENT. I would not even think of unloading it on my worst enemy.
