I am preparing for a camping trip of 10 days and nights down in Florida where it rains a lot and the wind sometimes is pretty strong so I am wondering if the fly will stay put. There is a large space between it and the top of the tent that might be a trap for strong wind so the fly gets ripped off.

One trip I got rained on for two days, slight leak near power inlet but just a few drops. I did not waterproof seams so that’s on me really. I wound up driving into town, a 30-mile round trip, to buy a tarp with which to cover it, which cost me half again what I had paid for the tent. A good thing, too, as later that night it came a-flood.

I guess I need to quit buying your products cos’ your queen elevated blow up bed also leaked air the first nite. I’ve been camping for over 40 years and this is absolutely, the worst tent I have ever purchased. I am glad I brought a cheap tarp with us, otherwise, we would have been soaked and blown away. It was the 2nd time of use and I am not happy with a tent that can not stand up to the normal wind that comes with a lake.
Now a few years later I erected it in the backyard just for fun. I have pitched the tent twice in my back yard and found that I could pitch it by myself in about one hour. I watersealed the seams, as per the instruction sheet inside the carrying bag but I have not been rained on yet. Overall this is a wonderful tent that has held up well to many years of family camping.
I will never buy an Ozark Trail tent in my life and I will tell everyone I know that if they buy one what to expect. And that is you will never be dry in one because they suck bad. Only complaint was the zipper hangs on the front door ozark trail chair flap, destroyed flap and zipper. They claim they are weather tested, but I feel they don’t include rain or wind as elements of the weather. I think I will go shopping this week for another tent that I feel better about. Otherwise I like the tent but do not trust it to hold up in severe conditions. If you can afford to spend more on a family tent, we recommend The North Face Wawona 6. Everyone who tested this tent loved it, and it’s not hard to understand why. With plenty of interior space, near-vertical walls, and a gigantic vestibule that could accommodate a golf cart, the Wawona feels more like a tiny home than a tent.
