Our driver/guides – Yona, Chris and Edmand were thorough professionals – and went out of their way mongoose excursion to make this trip a once in a lifetime experience. The lodges we stayed at, the food and the staff all met our expectations. The diversity of wildlife and avian life we saw was simply amazing. We were especially impressed by the friendliness of the Ugandan people – who all smiled and spoke softly. Still recovering from the long flight. This was the best trip we have ever taken, bar none, and we are experienced travelers.
The information they provided was comprehensive. On the ground in Uganda, the local team was superb. The initial briefing by the welcoming team put us at ease.
We have visited 46 countries and this trip rates at the top with much of the credit going to Laurence. I also did the Zanzibar extension which was a great opportunity to relax by the beach and I learned so much during the stone town city tour and spice tour. I will remember this trip for the rest of my life, and I hope I will be able to return to Tanzania in the future. Gate 1 always provides great tours, and this one will stand out amongst the best of the best. The itinerary, tour director, coach drivers, local guides and rangers, and group were fantastic. I loved that you provided a welcome and a farewell dinner.
I encourage all future travelers to sign up for the optional tours to get the full experience of the areas you will visit. The trip to Namibia was beautiful and unique. The diversity of the landscape that we covered was amazing. From dunes, to the ocean, to the desert to game parks.

Thank you also for providing so many meals for us. The hotels were great – not really crazy about the Mountain View one – mostly because my room was such a distance. I had heard great things about Gate 1 before I went on this trip and now, I know why.
All of the hotels were top tier, but the Angata Serengeti camp took it to another level. The staff greeted us with a cool towel, a drink and a song. After dinner they made a fire, and we were able to sit under the stars listening to the sounds of animals.
I have traveled with other tour companies before, but this was my first time traveling with Gate 1 and the entire process has been seamless. How lucky was I That there were only 2 other guests. The best thing about it was our guide Godliving. He was the smartest, well versed , caring and so loyal to gate 1.
