The main difference between the DX and CM series machine is the auto blade. The CM series had a manual blade where you had to remove the holder and adjust the blade depth depending on the type of material you had on your mat. The new DX machines include an auto blade and it automatically detects what the material is on the mat and cuts accordingly.
