Also, it seems that quality control over at Coleman is a bit off. While I didn’t have any problems, I’ve seen a few reports of incorrect assembly. Unfortunately, many of these reports quite new and apparently haven’t been dealt with by the manufacturer.

This grill might not be the smallest, but it’s evident that Coleman took great care in designing the LXE to make sure that is was very easy to set up, tear down and tote around. Of the four areas we considered, the RoadTrip® scored lowest in durability. Right out of the box, within minutes of assembling the grill, I barely bumped the grill on the concrete as I was transitioning it into its collapsed position and broke the handle. While this was admittedly due to user error, it shouldn’t have been that easy to break. Coleman does have replacement parts on their website but we were unable to locate this particular part. A little duct tape fixed the problem and the rest of the grill seems sturdy and well made.
When it might be lighter than the LXE, the Coleman X-Cursive remains among the thicker portable grills round at 43 Pounds. This implies it is not likely to be easily portable as the Weber coleman grill Q1000, for instance. I like to call the Coleman RoadTrip LXE the starter version of the RoadTrip line of portable grills.
