Despite what you may have read, you can absolutely enjoy an outdoors experience in an Ozark Trail tent. Oddly enough, Ozark Trail’s most basic, base bones shelter takes the title of most durable. We chose the Ozark Trail Clip & Camp because unlike larger cabins with plastic hubs and countless poles, this traditional two-pole dome has the fewest number of parts that can potentially fail. Each suite is artistically styled, features photographs of our animal residents, and a private deck.
From a negative ozark tent perspective, the weight is indicative of a lack of high quality material and components used throughout the shelter. Third place is literally filled by the gigantic Ozark Trail 73 quart which is a cooler for everything. You want to make sure that the treatment you’re using is compatible with the materials your tent is made of, but that’s more important for the seams. Keep in mind that a DWR coating will likely decrease your tent’s breathability, but that’s not as important as keeping out the water. Ozark trail makes just about everything you could need for getting outside. They have an affordable option for everything from knives and camping cookware to outboard motors. But there are actually quite a few different 8 person tents, all with their own features, and which one will be best for you depends a lot on what you’ll use it for. If you want a tent with plenty of space for 10 people sleeping on the floor, The Ozark Trail 10 person tent will be a comfortable choice for you with plenty of room for each person to spread out.
This isn’t an instant tent, but ease of use is still a high point of this model thanks to the simple setup. Just slide the roof poles into place, then plug the side and corner poles into their designated hubs and raise it all up. Two people can get this cabin set up in about five minutes, but setting the 2 Room Cabin up solo isn’t out of the question either. Each of the cabin’s three rooms includes its own privacy divider, and each is large enough to fit a queen-sized mattress as well, so it’s a great option for large groups or families.
If you’re expecting no rain at all, this is a great, reasonably-priced tent. This Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent has a packed size of 29 by 18 by 13 inches. For a size comparison, here’s what it looks like beside a Coleman 2-Person Sundome Tent, as well as a 32-ounce Nalgene bottle, and it weighs about 30 pounds for everything.
Its 10-person version has an impressive peak height of 90 inches, and I couldn’t even reach the top of the tent! (I’m 5’3″, ,by the way.) Another great thing about the Core Cabin Tent is that there are no obvious flaws…. And finally, the biggest con is probably that the quality isn’t the best with the slightly sticky tent fabric, loose threads, snagging issues and inconsistent mesh.
The single door measures about 54 by 39 inches in dimensions, although it’s about 62 inches from the floor to the top of the door. This is almost a full-sized door, but I do need to duck a little when entering. To set up the Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent, first slide the 3 fiberglass poles through the roof pole sleeves. Because it’s ridiculously inexpensive, the quality, design and weather protection isn’t the best, though I think it’ll work decently in summer (without rain, of course). The three-room cabin is definitely one of Ozark Trail’s more expensive models though, so if you’re shopping on a budget, there are plenty of other models worth considering. The Clip & Camp dome is particularly affordable, and also happens to be one of the most dependable models the brand currently makes.
I don’t think this Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent will do very well against strong winds. The rainfly has to be in place, so the ceiling mesh will be covered. You might get a little bit of ventilation through the gap between the ceiling mesh and the rainfly, but I think it’s pretty minimal. The door has 2 zippers for the bug net, and 2 for the door itself. The zipper quality is not the best, it’s a little bit noisy, and it always, always snags from the outside because of this green rain cover. It took me about double the time to set it up on my own (so, 20 minutes).
Interior storage is a great example, as all those little mesh pockets help keep things organized and off the floor. Screen rooms, shade awnings, storage vestibules, and privacy dividers are also great examples of livability-added features. These features all work together to make a tent feel more like your home away from home and less like a makeshift shelter in the woods. Second, Ozark Trail tents are affordable because they use very basic materials. All Ozark Trail poles are either steel alloy or fiberglass, and the fabrics used throughout the tent are typically on the thinner side.
