Coleman® Bryce Sleeping Bag

The Big Bay is also available in a Big and Tall Contour version for $130, which is a few inches taller and broader in the shoulders, hips and feet, so it’s not quite a mummy bag and not quite a rectangle. I didn’t test the big and tall version, but the hood design, insulation, draft tube, neck collar and zipper are all the same. The soft flannel lining coleman canopy and pillow gives you extra warmth and comfort from head to toe, while the Comfort Cuff™ design makes sure you only have soft fabric around your face while you sleep. Thanks to the ZipPlow™ zipper, you’ll get snag-free opening and closing every time. A durable, cotton canvas cover will ensure you get to use this extra-warm bag season after season.

You can read my in-depth review of the best sleeping bags, including the Coleman Big Bay 20° as the best value for car camping and general use. The Coleman Big Bay 20° is rated for a lower temperature limit of 20 degrees Fahrenheit, which seems about right based on my experience. Wearing long johns and wool socks, I crawled into the Big Bay, napped on a cot in 32-degree weather and found it comfortably warm. For anything colder than that, you’ll need extra layers as well as a beanie, or you’ll want to consider another bag altogether. Most recreational campers won’t be sleeping in temperatures that low (it’s already transitioning into winter for me at that temperature), so this bag is practical for most people’s needs. Some bags, like The North Face’s One Bag, feature unique warmth-tailoring systems that allow you to customize the amount of insulation depending on conditions.

We feel the Coleman Brazos is a great bang for your buck that allows infrequent campers to enjoy the pleasure of spending a night under the stars. For retail purchases returned without a receipt, the refund will be issued as a store merchandise

credit at the lowest price within the last 90 days. Proper ID will be required in the form of a valid, state-

issued driver’s license or state ID card. We reserve the right to limit, or refuse returns without a receipt. For retail purchases returned with a receipt, please return the unused and unopened item, with the

original sales receipt, for a full refund or exchange.

You don’t need to wash your sleeping bag after every camping trip, but you should clean it once or twice a year, depending on how much you use it. Using a front-loading washing machine (never use a top-loading agitator-style machine), wash your sleeping bag with a small amount of mild liquid detergent on a warm, gentle cycle and rinse it with cold water. Tumble dry on low heat in as large a dryer as possible (high heat can burn the fabric or insulation).

This synthetic sleeping bag has a layer of memory foam for luxurious camping comfort. You will love this extra layer of comfort between you and your sleeping pad when you are in your family tent. Meant for 30- to 50-degree nights, this rectangular bag is roomy in the legs and supremely comfortable. It is fleecy soft inner lining and it rolls up and ties with attached cords.

Coleman Brazos sleeping bag is designed for outdoor camping in moderately cold temperatures. It’s not cheap outfitting an entire camping setup, and for those who plan to add backpacking into the mix, the cost can get out of hand quickly. If this sounds like you, choosing a crossover camping/backpacking bag is a viable way to save. A few models above can pull double duty for both activities with few compromises, including the Nemo Disco 15 and Kelty Cosmic Down 20. Both bags weigh less than 3 pounds, compress reasonably small for stuffing into a pack, and offer enough warmth for most three-season adventures.
