Ozark Trail 14′ x 10′ 10-Person Instant Cabin Tent

I did not continue to set up the screen porch (which has no floor) or put the rainfly on. I did go inside the tent to stand up and not hunched over and noticed the mesh ceiling with lots of ventilation. I’m sure this tent is good during a wind storm and rain/condensation issues. Just ignore its declared capacity and you will enjoy this tent.

The two-room, cabin style tent has panoramic views with windows on all sides and room to stand up with a huge 78-inch center height. It comfortably fits two queen airbeds or up to 10 campers in sleeping bags on the floor. Keep your gear organized with the included hanging gear organizer. Also included are tent stakes to secure the tent, and a carry bag for easy portability and storage when not in use.

Note also that the packed size is not so impressive, but again, this is normal for instant camping tents that come with telescopic poles. All in all, you will need a car for the transportation of this tent. Capacity-wise, they claim this is a 10-person tent. But the area is 140 ft² (13 m²) so this is far too small for such a number of users although indeed it should be possible to put 10 sleeping pads on the floor. Note again that the tent is fully floored, so this can work for a group of friends at a summer festival and for other similar activities.

But the fly is with four guyout lines and you can stake it out in windy conditions. During my research on this tent I watched several YouTube videos on how to set up tent by yourself or with two people. This tent is a little heavy because of the steel poles pre-attached to the tent, so I recommend having a partner to help pop up and lock in the poles.

I almost went to refund the tent, but it did not qualify @ the time. The Coleman tent is an instant setup design but it is also a dark-rest tent. Both of them are heavier than the Ozark Trail tent.

Trailspace’s community of gear reviewers has field-tested and rated the top warm weather tents. I didn’t think I had a large enough space in my backyard to pitch this tent (14×13.5) I barely squeezed it in my yard. There is lots of mesh around and on the ceiling, so this will work great if you use the tent in a warm climate. But with so much mesh on the ceiling, I would not use this tent in a cold climate.

In any case, I have included this tent in my list of tents with a screen room. The picture below shows how the tent is divided in two parts, the rooms are the same size, around 7 x 10 ft each. This is a freestanding construction, ozark trail instant cabin self-supporting and stable as you can realize from the picture below which shows the tent without the fly. But you should certainly not miss staking it properly, the stakes and guylines are included in the package.

This is also a cabin style tent with straight but angled walls, though you do not have a stand-up height, the tent is with the peak height of 66 inches (168 cm). The dimensions and the shape are the same as in their Ozark Trail 6-Person Dark Rest Instant Cabin Tent. The picture below shows the tent without the fly so you can see the frame. As you realize this is a nicely balanced construction, very stable and self-supporting. The tent is a true freestanding structure, and this remains so even after you add the fly and clip it to the corners, so you can move it around and rotate.

The big appeal of this tent is its very easy set up, but that comes at the cost of massive size. So you simply spread the tent and extend its telescopic poles. You have to add the fly as well, so it is best to have somebody to help you. This is why I have added it to my list of best instant camping tents. So the walls are steep and straight and the peak height along the main axes is 78 inches (198 cm).
