I love getting out into nature and it’s where I feel most alive. “The Waterfall Hunters” are what me and my family call ourselves as we love finding new waterfalls to explore, swimming ozark trail chair holes to dive in or beaches to surf at. I also love the wide range of gear that allows us to travel further and eat and drink better while we are out exploring. I really like these coolers as they offer great value but they don’t break the bank.

Every model will come with at least one separate zippered pocket and many will have multiple zippered pockets in addition to mesh side pockets. All models are super easy to transport thanks to multiple carrying methods including optional wheels, padded shoulder straps, and more. Whether or not these fit and finish issues haunt you almost seems like luck of the draw. To achieve the extremely attractive price point that they did, Ozark Trail likely had to sacrifice a few things in the quality department. The result is a cooler that doesn’t have quite the level of fit and finish as, say, a Yeti or an Engel. We are impressed with the lineup of features you get to enjoy here.

In fact, at the time of writing this Lifetime coolers are even cheaper than Ozark Trail coolers with the 55-Quart selling for under $100. However, given that it’s Walmart and they are a big box retailer they are often changing their prices. Occasionally selling them for full price, but more often than not selling them for some sort of discount. You effectively need to manually empty your cooler (which can be very cold on the hands) then empty out the water before putting your items back it. This is true of the Ozark Trail but it’s also true of all roto-molded coolers.

The constant color feature among the two are the orange rimmed wheels which I don’t love but, it is not a deal breaker. REI had a member sale over Memorial Day weekend and we were able to save 20% on our cooler. We still spent more money than I’d like but at least we saved 20%. Just as with the other cooler test, we purchased four bags of ice and put the Coleman and YETI Tundra 65 in a head-to-head test.

RTIC coolers are the coolers most similar to Yeti but for a cheaper price. They will come into store and because they are such a great price when compared to Yeti and other similar coolers they will quickly fly off the shelves and then be out of stock again. This can be extremely frustrating when you are a couple of days into your trip and you want to empty out some of the water but you still have items in your cooler.

While the Ozark Trail Hard-Sided Coolers are mostly designed to compete with the premium coolers of the industry, their soft-sided coolers are more balanced. Ozark Trail’s soft-sided coolers have gone through quite a bit of variation over the past couple of years. Many of their models have undergone facelifts ozark trail canopy and new sizes of soft-sided coolers have also been introduced to the market. As we mentioned above, Ozark Trail has both hard-sided and soft-sided coolers. The hard-sided coolers are measured in quarts while the soft-sided coolers are typically measured in how many cans that they can hold.
