How to Set Up an Ozark Trail Tent USA Today

This Ozark Trail 20-Person 4-Room Cabin Tent is ideal for your next family camping trip. Multiple interior convenience pockets provide plenty of storage space for everyone’s small objects. Ozark Trail is famous for its huge large family camping tents and they have many 12-person tents in particular, so it is easy to get lost. This tent presented here may look like a rectangular ozark trail tent structure, but in fact, it is more a Y-shape structure as the picture below (very roughly) shows. I have seen people asking about this and this is why I made the sketch of its flor plan. So yes, the Ozark Trail is an absolute steal of a deal if you’re into the bell tent design, but there are a few shortcomings you’ll want to be aware of if you’re considering it.

It is designed to be used with two rooms and all necessary details are built to allow for such a use. But it can also be used as a single room tent plus its great screen room. In terms of drawbacks, this is a particularly budget-friendly model from an already budget-focused brand, so you’ll need to be mindful of a few shortcomings to get the most out of this shelter. First, Ozark Trail uses sealed seams on this tent, but the fabric itself isn’t made for a rainstorm. You’ll want to give the entire tent a thorough Nikwax treatment before taking it on the road.

The main thing is is that the zippers that you put in these tents are so substandard that it doesn’t last more than one or two camping trips. You set a new low in tents and the damn zippers you put in them. And before you guys cop an attitude, I have been camping since I was at least 4 years old and I am now in my mid-50s. With that being said, Ozark Trail does a good job of seam-sealing their tents from the factory in most cases, and with a little help, these budget-shelters can keep you dry when unexpected rain hits.

I can’t reach this either, but you should be fine if you’re a little taller. Every single time I open this door, the zipper will snag at least once, sometimes twice, which can be annoying. The Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent has just 1 door, which is a D-shaped door, and it’s located somewhere along the length of the tent. There are 2 windows along the length of the tent, and 1 window on the width of the tent.

We had great weather – not too hot and not too cold – but it did rain for about 5 minutes. My friend chose to not put up his rain fly betting on the perfect weather to continue while enjoying ozark trail tent the stars at night. During those five minutes of rain, he was a little more stressed as the risk of a wet sleeping bag had not been completely mitigated and he rushed back to the campground.

With room for 12 and nearly seven-foot ceilings, it checks all our boxes for a big family tent, but even as cabin shelters go, this one is special. If you’re expecting no rain at all, this is a great, reasonably-priced tent. For pros, the Ozark Trail 10-Person Cabin Tent is very, very inexpensive, and is by far my least expensive tent for the size.

(I’m 5’3″, ,by the way.) Another great thing about the Core Cabin Tent is that there are no obvious flaws…. It also has a nice high peak height of 88 inches, plus its side walls are vertical, so it offers a lot of livable space. I could stand up everywhere inside this Ozark Trail Tent.
