Coleman Cooler Quad Review Tested by GearLab

By far, the best thing about this chair is how easy it is to set up — it just folds outwards like an accordion. The cooler is also easy to use, with a handy pull-on top that unzips both sides simultaneously. A small patch of velcro is all that’s left between you and your cold beverages.

There are two hanging pockets off of each armrest, and the uppermost section on the backside of the chair back has a full-width hanging mesh pocket for miscellaneous stashes. And despite the rocker design, the chair isn’t difficult to get up and out of or to sit down in. The coleman cooler overall frame is a bit lower to the ground, so taller users might notice they need to lean back for the chair’s support. For retail purchases returned with a receipt, please return the unused and unopened item, with the

They went on to share that “the carrying pouch is sturdy, the chairs are wide and comfy, and the cup holder [and] side cooler [are] so convenient.” It comes with a bag that has a shoulder strap to cart it around and weighs 8 pounds. The carry bag is rather thin, letting you feel whatever section of the chair rests upon your back or side. At least you probably won’t be carrying it terribly far, and it’s not awful over short stretches. Comfort is king when it comes to camp chairs, and we’ve put some serious man-hours into finding out which is the best for every occasion.

And finally, a few chairs will sport integrated straps directly on the chair for shouldering them, such as the REI Co-op Wonderland. This is paramount if you’re backpacking, semi-important when packing the rig for coleman camping chair car camping, and not very important when setting up in the backyard. Camping-style chairs won’t pack up as small as backpacking chairs, but will typically collapse to a more travel-friendly form for moving around.

Comfort is often something that gets overlooked at the behest of cool features. Thankfully the Cooler Quad does a great job balancing robust construction with add-ons such as the titular 4-can cooler on the left armrest. You know you’re getting a quality chair with an integrated cooler rather than a carry cooler with a seat. By making a simple folding camp chair well- Coleman’s Cooler Quad has made the rankings as one of our favorites. It’s definitely one of the more comprehensively comfortable models that we tried out. If the arms were a little longer and a little higher, it would be perfect- but by no means is this a deal-breaking oversight.

The Renetto Original Canopy Chair, a cleverly designed specialty seat, is ideal for anyone who wants sun protection and doesn’t mind a heavier, bulkier chair. Despite the Renetto’s weight, our testers found it easy to carry and simple to set up and adjust. We discovered that even though most testers had not previously considered a shade-equipped camp chair, once they used one they appreciated the comfort and convenience of built-in sun blocking. Camp chairs are among the most versatile piece of outdoor equipment out there. They’re great for picnics, backyard BBQs, fishing, sporting events, and portable seating for festivals or concerts. Many people will use their camping chairs as patio furniture (or extra guest patio furniture), so it can be used almost year round.
