Coleman Heritage 10in Big Tall Sleeping Bag 2000008710 , 11% Off with Free S&H

Each year we add a few new pieces of camping gear to make our trip more comfy. This year, I focused on finding the perfect sleeping bags for camping. We just used bedding from home but I don’t like lugging that around and it doesn’t pack up as conveniently as sleeping bags. When I found my perfect picks, Coleman provided samples in order to facilitate review. Sleep comfortably under the stars in the Coleman® Autumn Trails 20 Big & Tall Sleeping Bag, even when the temperature drops to 20°F outside. Lightweight for Coletherm® hollow polyester insulation helps keep you comfortable all night long.

The Coleman Big Game is also durable thanks to its fiberlock construction that reduces cold spots and stops insulation from shifting. This sleeping bag is highly portable due to its easy-to-roll and pack design. It’s not cheap outfitting an entire camping setup, and for those who plan to add backpacking coleman canopy into the mix, the cost can get out of hand quickly. If this sounds like you, choosing a crossover camping/backpacking bag is a viable way to save. A few models above can pull double duty for both activities with few compromises, including the Nemo Disco 15 and Kelty Cosmic Down 20.

Look through sleeping bags that will keep you warm throughout the night thanks to the Thermolock™ draft tube that prevents heat from escaping through the zipper. These sleeping bags also come with a convenient interior tuck pocket that lets you securely store small essentials, so you don’t have to sleep with them in your pockets. Browse through a wide collection of sleeping bags and find the perfect pick. As we touched on above, temperature coleman sleeping bag ratings tend to be fairly generous and often require adding a sizable buffer to ensure you’ll stay warm throughout the night. For those who run cold or simply want to bring their bag into lower temperatures, adding a sleeping bag liner can help keep you cozy without breaking the bank. Liners are made of soft materials like fleece, wool, polyester, or silk and typically add around 5 to 15 degrees to the warmth rating of your bag.

You can read my in-depth review of the best sleeping bags, including the Coleman Big Bay 20° as the best value for car camping and general use. The Coleman Big Bay 20° is rated for a lower temperature limit of 20 degrees Fahrenheit, which seems about right based on my experience. Wearing long johns and wool socks, I crawled into the Big Bay, napped on a cot in 32-degree weather and found it comfortably warm. For anything colder than that, you’ll need extra layers as well as a beanie, or you’ll want to consider another bag altogether. Most recreational campers won’t be sleeping in temperatures that low (it’s already transitioning into winter for me at that temperature), so this bag is practical for most people’s needs. The Coleman Kids sleeping bag also stands out for a kid-friendly design.

After our testing, the thing we found missing from the Brazos compared to other bags was comfort. It was in the comfort category that the Coleman Brazos started to show a few weaknesses. The tricot knit liner isn’t coleman sleeping bag particularly elegant and in fact is a bit of a debris magnet. For retail purchases returned without a receipt, the refund will be issued as a store merchandise

credit at the lowest price within the last 90 days.

The Coleman Big Bay 20° mummy bag emerged as the best value pick in my sleeping bag review, and the Nemo Forte Synthetic Sleeping Bag (available in men’s and women’s) was given the top overall spot. The Nemo Forte is a more luxurious-feeling synthetic sleeping bag—the fabric is more supple and the insulation loftier—but the Big Bay doesn’t feel as slick as many bags around the same price do. It’s a little slippery on the inside, which makes getting in and out easy, but the outside isn’t slick, so it doesn’t slide around on a cot, sleeping pad or air mattress. The Big Bay also has a cinchable hood, no-snag zipper and plush collar, plus it allows for foot ventilation, just like the Forte.

We take day hikes and do outdoor activities from our drive up camping spot in the Smoky Mountains. Therefore, I was looking for sleeping bags for camping that offered comfort. I also wanted them to keep us comfortable in cold weather down to degrees. Hybrid-shaped bag, with a mummy-shaped head and a rectangular bottom for extra foot space.
