Set of 4 Padded Folding Chairs $69+ 5-Piece Bed in a Bag Comforter Set $26+ Picnic blanket $7

It’s heavier than its competitors and not as easy to fold, but it has a carrying strap attached to the frame (something its ozark trail chair competitors didn’t have). This chair’s weight capacity is 250 pounds—less than that of the ALPS Mountaineering Rendezvous low chair. It has the most comfortable and supportive seat shape of any chair we tested. The Dual Lock chair has a firmer backrest and seat bottom than the competition. And it avoids the slouchy shape of most traditional camping chairs, which can sag to create a hunch-and-slouch posture. Each comes with a convenient carrying bag that you can sling over your shoulder.

The LuxuryLite comes with everything you need to carry this cot around and can even fit inside of a backpacking backpack with ease. The low profile leg design is not only strong but also saves overhead space for use inside low canopy tents. The Therm-a-Rest LuxuryLite Mesh Cot is available for $159.95.

The XXL Director chair by Ozark Trail is not adjustable. However, it is marginally above average in terms of comfort compared to other camp chairs. As you can see from the numbers, this is a big chair.

GCI Outdoor makes several rocking chairs, and we plan to try more of them to see if they’re any better than the Freestyle Rocker, which we weren’t enthusiastic about. The ozark cooler cupholders on the L.L.Bean Kids’ Base Camp Chair aren’t as roomy as those on our picks, and they’re not as adept at holding stubby water bottles or mugs of hot chocolate. After eight years of consistent use by senior editor Kalee Thompson’s two young boys, the REI Co-op Camp Chair is, she reports, faded and worn but still holding up.

Simply put, it can be notoriously difficult to find big and robust furniture to support you properly. That’s as true for camp chairs as it is for recliners and the like. Where camp chairs are concerned, most of them top out at around 300 pounds of supported weight. That works for the majority of the market, but if you happen to be heavier than that, you’ll find that pickings can be slim. Many testers found other chairs more comfortable and easier to put together than the Nemo Moonlite Reclining Camp Chair. This is also the most expensive lightweight chair we tested, and we think the Chair One is a better value.

Keep in mind that lightweight chairs won’t be nearly as comfortable as traditional camping chairs, so take the word comfortable with a grain of salt. Since 2016, our testers (with different body types and physical needs) have subjected camping chairs to multiple camping trips. We chose the Coleman Cooler Quad Chair as the model with the right combination of comfort, durability, usability, and price for most campers. These Ozark Trail camping chairs are perfect to take with you to kids’ sports games, camping trips, or to simply have them around so you can lounge in your backyard or for guests when having cookouts.
