700c Hyper E-Ride City Electric Bike

A few problems I found with the bike are as follows-First, I don’t like how the handle bars are designed because you need a wrench to tighten them up and put them on. This is slightly annoying because other than the tires, everything else is assembled using hex keys (also known as an allen wrench). The wrench built into my multi-tool is made for tires, so it is slightly too large to fit and adjust the handlebars because they used another type of bolt like screw for it. This is a minor problem because I just added a wrench to my backpack repair kit and moved along. Some readers have found this SRAM calculator to be helpful for finding the right tire pressure. Even though the form says it’s for Zipp wheels the results are generally applicable to other wheels too.

It’s easy to get lulled into buying the flashy mountain-styled bikes on store shelves. They always have eye-catching paint jobs, and some are full suspension — all for cheap. But on a mountain bike, weight can really drag down the hyper bike enjoyment.

That would have been fine, but we had already assembled most of the mountain bike hyper bicycles and we didn’t want to repack the entire thing just to ship it out and get another mountain bike that we would have to reassemble. I would give this bike an 7/10 for durability and quality. It loses three points for the small defects and bad customer service from the manufacturer and seller.

The Hyper MTB Ebike offers pedal assistance, which means you will be an active participant in your ride. This was one of the only things that I was skeptical about when purchasing the Hyper MTB Ebike. I had not used a pedal assist Ebike and so I wasn’t sure just how much effort would be required from me as the rider. It’s not that I am a lazy person, it’s more that I was considering how I planned to use this bike.

Pull the brake pads out the way if you need to and slide the fork onto the tire. Be careful removing the bike because the box has sharp staples holding it together. Some people recommend using pliers to remove the staples first, but I found it easier to just carefully pull the bike free; do which ever method works best for you. If your handlebars are tangled, proceed to rotate them around either clockwise or counter-clockwise to untangle them. Sadly I cannot give further instructions because it depends on how the handlebars tangle, but if you carefully look it over you should be able to follow the wires to straighten it all out. I don’t do many reviews but these bikes are so good, I just had to!

I’d say that you can comfortably expect the ride time of your hyper Ebike to live up to the manufacturers description. Hyper states that the MTB Ebike has a battery life of 1 hour or 20 miles and I tested this out to see how my bike fared in the wild. All that was required on my end was installing the handlebars, pedals, and battery. The trouble with ATVs is hyper mountain bike of course the amount of noise they make when you are using them.

I tried this for several years, and when I actually checked the pressure with a gauge it varied by 3-5psi despite feeling the same as the prior pump. That discrepancy was too wide for me, and I now use a digital gauge to dial in the numbers before every ride. It adds 1-2 seconds to the ride-prep process, affords me some mental security on the rocks, and provides the ability to more accurately test tires and wheels. The reality is that each new feature has to either increase price or take away from something else to compensate.
