The 4-pound, steel-framed REI chair has an attached carry strap, rather than a carry bag (which the other chairs have). After a couple of camping trips, we concluded that a strap is more convenient than a bag—it’s quicker and easier for a kid to grab the chair and go, without parental help. Moreover, we observed that many users were concerned about the chair sinking into the sand when used at the beach. To address this, we designed the legs to be removable, transforming the chair into a ground chair, which is better suited for beach use and also more comfortable for smaller children. The headrest is attached to the chair by velcro which is also removable. You can move it up and down on the velcro patch and find the perfect height that’s comfortable for you.
Our High-Back Armchair 2.0 is unique in the market because it can be packed down very small, yet its size and height are greater than typical chairs.
